Every year since 2006, the chancellor of the Virginia Community College System has recognized philanthropy leaders from each of the 23 community colleges in the Commonwealth. The PVCC award recipients are listed here:

Ethyle Giuseppe
Ethyle Cole Giuseppe (2012)
Her major gift ensured the success of the campaign for a PVCC center in Greene County and was recognized by naming the PVCC Eugene Giuseppe Center for her late husband, a Greene County educator

Barbara Fried
Barbara Fried (2011)
With her late husband, Mark, a supporter of the Great Expectations program that encourages foster youth to attend college and of the PVCC Center in Greene County
